When I had some time off work, I decided to visit Kyle and Danielle in Los Angeles.
Keep on reading for my day-to-day adventures!
Day 0, March 25: Travel Day
My flight didn’t leave St. Louis until almost 10pm, so I did not land at LAX until midnight. Either way, I was picked up and went to sleep as soon as I arrived back at the apartment.
Day 1, March 26: Low Key Day and Mexican Food
We didn’t do much of anything today, but we did go to Trejo’s Cantina Hollywood for dinner. I did have a fancy spicy margarita though.
Day 2, March 27: Solstice Canyon Hike and the Beach
Kyle suggested we go on a short hike. He said it would be a 3 mile hike, but it ended up being a 7.5 mile hike with an elevation gain of almost 1800 feet. We made it after 3.5 hours though. I’m so glad I brought my water along. After the hike, we did enjoy the water at El Matador State Beach on Malibu. It was a beautiful day.
Day 3, March 28: Around the Apartment
We didn’t do much of anything today and I ended up just hanging out at the apartment most of the day.
Day 4, March 29: Whale Watching and Point Vincente Interpretive Center
Kyle and Danielle took me on a whale watching tour. We got to see whales and sea lions up close. We also stopped on this little island.
After, we went to the Point Vincente Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes for a sunset walk and then Korean BBQ.
Day 5, March 30: The Getty Center
I spent the day on my own. I went to the Getty Center. I toured the museum and then spent the afternoon relaxing in the gardens. After I went to Will Rogers State Beach to hang out. It was breezy and I ended up having to buy a pair of pajama pants to keep me warm. I ate a fancy meal at In-and-Out. I was glad I didn’t bring any food to the beach because the birds were trying to attack anyone with food.
Day 6, March 31: Huntington Gardens
My last day was spent at the Huntington Gardens. It was so pretty. We ended up eating lunch at the gardens and then after lunch, I had to go to the airport to head back home.
All good trips have an end, and my time in California had come to an end. I was excited to come back home, see Bryce and Nico, and stretch out in an actual bed. It was wonderful to be able to spend time together with Kyle and Danielle and spend some time relaxing on the beach.
