Midwest 2024

Since I live in St. Louis, Missouri, I thought I would make a page with a few things that I love to do here in my own city. This page will be set up slightly different than the other pages since I won’t be doing a day by day account of home base, but I just want to highlight some of the fun and different things that I do while I’m not travelling.

Keep on reading for updates on our life in the Midwest!

January 4, 2024: Mobot

We always go to the MO Botanical Garden’s “Garden Glow” at the end of the year but we decided to do one more round of the lights before they took them down for the season. I think these dandelion flowers are so pretty!

We saw Mrs. Doubtfire as part of our Fox Theatre subscription.

We drove down to Nashville and we got to see Kristin Chenoweth perform.

February 24, 2024: Circus of Dreams Pop Up Event

My friend Naomi and I went to this pop-up event called Circus of Dreams. I love how the pop-up events have themed drinks and food, the venue is decorated, and these events also have a “show” and some games involved. This one had dancers and performers who used light up hula hoops too.

July 12, 2024: Goodman Theatre (Chicago)

We took a short road trip to Chicago to see the world premier of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil based on the novel of the same name. The music was by Jason Robert Brown and starred J. A co-worker of Bryce invited us to the St. Louis Mid Autumn Festival Concert where multiple artists and groups performed Opera songs. It was our first exposure to Opera and we both enjoyed ourselves.

September 20, 2024: New Society Bar

Some friends and I went to New Society Bar which is a speakeasy type bar that was very fun. The drink I ordered was “corn”. It was comprised of poblano, queso fresco infused alambique serrano, buttered corn, licor 43, sherry, cheddar popcorn air. It tasted like corn!
